Buttonhead Presents: The Veruca Prima

This vintage, powder blue train case is stuffed to the brim with fabulous Buttonhead goodies.  The case serves as my new traveling portfolio, with samples of custom work, retail items, and of course, many lovely Buttonhead giveaways.  The top of the lid holds a stack of full-color, tri-fold brochures.  On the inside, there are three colors of handmade silk organza bags:  Blue contains examples of special order work I’ve done for clients, White are filled with a brand new line of glamorous freebies, and Gold contains retail items available for immediate sale.

The case (nicknamed ‘The Veruca Prima’) made its' premiere at a few Chicago boutiques this week to rave reviews!  I am excited to introduce my handmade art to a whole new clientele.  So, cheers to the Veruca Prima!  The first of many.

Buttonhead is Dead.

Why, hello!  I welcome you to my darkened lair.  If you’ve come looking for Buttonhead, I must inform you:  She is dead.  Yes.  Dead.  I cracked her head open with a hammer, so that I could feast on her big, filthy brain!  Braaaaaaaain!!!! 

Ahem. 

I, Zombie Buttonhead, have decided to occupy the real Buttonhead’s body to carry out my dastardly agenda: gaining the trust of her family, friends, and fans, so that I might dine on their delicious brains, toooooo!  * DROOL *

I have also seized control of the Buttonhead Laboratory.  At last!  In accordance with my wishes, all buttons will now be… EVIL BUTTONS!  Mwahahaha!

Well, now.  You can’t say I didn’t warn you.  See you soon!

The Indie 5 Collective: Project Update

Over the past year, I created and developed the Indie 5 Collective, a collaborative YouTube channel with video resources for crafters.  As a group, we created instructional and informational videos, highlighting the (business) crafting community in and around Etsy.com.  Regular contributors to the show included Amy (Notmoira), Amanda (ArtofSelfLove), Julia (JeezeJulia), Sandra & Anna (HippieDippyDesigns), Keira (InkyProductions), Danica (Flowerbedhead), Nadiah (LeArmoire), Bredette (OrionStars), and Danielle (DaniellesDesigns). 

After much consideration, I have decided to discontinue Indie 5.  As I plan my business and personal calendar for 2010, I realize that there are other projects I would like to focus on and new directions I’d like to explore.  I personally contributed at least 100 videos to the Indie 5 library.  I met tons of interesting artists through my involvement with the project, and together, we reached thousands of people with our work.  I have much love and respect for all those who have been involved, and I truly value the overall experience.

Today, I find myself on the edge of the next challenge.  I look forward to the continued growth of Buttonhead, but more importantly, to the growth of my own personal artistic experience.  I predict many projects for the future, not just from Buttonhead – but from Ali Puckett, the weirdo behind the curtain.
